Per Ken Rosenthal, the Red Sox have signed released Cincinnati Reds catcher David Ross to a minor league deal. In 134 at bats with the Reds this season, the 31-year-old Ross batted .231 with 3 HR, 13 RBI and a .381 OBP. In order to be eligible for the postseason, Ross must be promoted to the MLB roster by August 31st. Rosenthal expects Ross to assume the role of third catcher behind both Tek and Cash. ...
