Peace And Humptyness For Denver?

... You know it's summertime when you start racking up the post titles ending in question marks. Today's rumor comes from Ken Berger at Newsday, who's got reason to believe that the Knicks have a different way of cutting payroll and roster spots than we previously expected. ...
Knicks Should Only Deal If It Means Roster Improvements

"Ken Berger of Newsday has been told that the Nuggets and Knicks are close to a deal that would send Balkman to Denver. A trade that would send 2006 first-round pick Renaldo Balkman to Denver for point guard Taurean Green and small forward Bobby Jones, an NBA front-office source told Newsday last night. The deal would mark the end of Balkman's mostly confusing tenure with the Knicks, who selected him with the 20th pick two years ago when Isiah Thomas said Phoenix would've swiped ...
NBA Trade Rumor: Renaldo Balkman to the Nuggets

... for nothing but a bag of change. Back in ‘06, ‘Zeke must have been covering his back when he said that the Suns coveted the 6-7 small forward. The Knicks are overloaded at small forward with the addition of first-round pick Danilo Gallinari , and Balkman also became expendable because he lacks the savvy and quick decision-making required by D’Antoni’s system. That’s the same system that he employed in Phoenix. Just imagine the doo-doo face Isiah’s making right now. Source: Newsday
Renaldo Balkman to Denver?

You might not recall, but not too long ago, the drafting of Renaldo Balkman was considered a particularly low point in Isiah Thomas’s disastrous tenure in New York. I should know; I’m the guy who started an ill-fated blog about it.
The reality, of course, is that the pick ranks nowhere near the top of follies that took place while Thomas guided the ship towards the bottom of the ocean.
Balkman turned out to be a decent player (selfless, hard-working, played defense), and was one of the few guys on the roster who New York fans didn’t despise with every fiber of their being.
And now, the ...
The First Man Out in New York Might Be Renaldo Balkman

... NBA Rumors"Things fall apart, the center cannot hold." -Yeats. You know things have to change with the Knicks. New GM. New coach. New regime. There are going to be changes and they're going to come sooner, rather than later. If reports coming out of New York prove true today, though, it may be players other than those you suspect that are finding new zipcodes. Instead of Stephen Marbury or the highly prized David Lee, Newsday reports that Renaldo Balkman is on the table, with an offer being discussed with Denver ...
Mutoni’s URL Registration Wasted : Knicks Ready To Trade Renaldo
Published 7/28/2008 by GC at Can't Stop The Bleeding
Newsday’s Ken Berger reports the Knicks and Nuggets are negotiating a swap of the latter’s Renaldo Balkman for F Bobby Jones and PG Taurean Green. Clearly, the the clock has run out on predictions Balkman would emerge as the next Dennis Rodman — though there’s still plenty of time for him to hang out with Eddie Vedder and Jack Haley if so inclined.
The deal would mark the end of Balkman’s mostly confusing tenure with the Knicks, who selected him with the 20th pick two years ago when Isiah Thomas said Phoenix would’ve swiped him if he hadn’t. That scenario appears even more dubious now that the ...
No Melo, But Nuggets-Knicks Deal Intrigues

A Daily Babble Production For some reasons that are only somewhat clear to me at this point, I wrote back in January that Renaldo Balkman would be a player worth acquiring for several teams around the league. Six months later, it appears that his own team doesn't seem to feel that way. ESPN reported late Monday that the Knicks and Nuggets completed a trade sending Balkman to Denver in exchange for Taurean Green, Bobby Jones and a second-round pick. The fun part here is that Newsday 's Ken Berger's report indicates that the Knicks are epxected to wave Green and Jones, thus making the deal strictly about clearing Balkman's salary. Of course, with ...
