JGR Facing Nationwide Penalties Gibbs teams face penalties for manipulating Nationwide Dyno Old Rusty's got nothing but respect for Joe Gibbs. One of the most outstanding fellows in the sport, his faith (respectfully so) dictates many of his business decisions. For instance, he still refuses to consider alcohol sponsors for any of his teams. However, the news coming out of Michigan makes me start to think what in the devil went wrong. JGR's embrace of the sport's new bad boy was puzzling, but no one suspected Gibbs wasn't playing ...

Tony Stewart, Joey Lagano, Joe Gibbs Racing Caught Cheating in NASCAR

... If JGR does receive a penalty this week, it should not be a light one.  They knowingly interfered with the inspection process, and no NASCAR fan, JGR supporter or not, should complain about how JGR was treated unfairly.  When you mess with the inspection and blatantly violate the rule that says "do what we tell you to do because we're going to put some cars on the chassis dyno for further random testing," you deserve whatever penalty is handed down to you.
