EliteXC in no-win situation with Kimbo
Published 8/21/2008 by Steve Cofield at Yahoo! MMA Blog
EliteXC's Oct. 4 CBS card in Ft. Lauderdale is shaping up as a do-or-die show. The card will feature the biggest stars in the promotion, Kimbo Slice and Gina Carano. We've known for weeks that Carano will fight Kelly Kobold. On the other hand, naming a Slice opponent has taken forever. You get the sense that EliteXC has no idea what to do with the highly marketable but very inexperienced fighter. Word has it that the promotion actually called around to some media members to see what the reaction would be to certain opponents being selected. It's looking more and more like the decision is down to Ken Shamrock or Sean Gannon (pictured - good tip ...

EliteXC makes my head hurt with dumb. August 21, 2008 – 11:06 am by fightlinker [image] Ah, Jared Shaw. What exactly do you do for EliteXC other than leak news to the media and act as posterboy for silver spoon no talent ass clowns? I wish I could hate Jared to death. I wish they could harness the power generated from my hatred towards him, because then we could free ourselves from our reliance on foreign oil. There’s not enough rocks on the planet earth for me to throw at his lumpy head. God damn you Jared Shaw. Swallow your tongue and die. So anyways, here’s Jared’s latest soundbyte: “Jake Shields and Paul Daley have a date on Oct. 4,” quipped Shaw. “Both ...

EliteXC: Shields To Defend Against Daley

Sean Gannon-Kimbo Slice Won't Be on CBS, Jake Shields-Paul Daley Will Be
Published 8/21/2008 at FanHouse
Filed under: EliteXCResponding to yesterday's report that Kimbo Slice would take on Sean Gannon in a fight on CBS on October 4, EliteXC officials say it's not going to happen. EliteXC vice president Jared Shaw wouldn't tell MMAWeekly.com who Kimbo will fight in his next network television appearance, but he would say, "There are several options we're considering right now. Gannon is not the guy." That's good news. A Kimbo vs. Gannon fight would be the ultimate freak show. Kimbo should take on a legitimate MMA fighter, perhaps for the EliteXC heavyweight title that will be vacated after Antonio Silva's positive steroid ...
