An elbow shouldn’t go that way, even in Hungary
Published 8/13/2008 by B-Reezy at The Sports Culture
We’ve seen great success so far from Michael Phelps, the USA ballers, and 10-year-old Chinese gymnasts, but below is Beijing’s first performance mishap. And like all things dotted, crossed, and perfect in China, they’ve got “Sign Guys” — probably chosen from birth — to relieve the agony of Hungary’s Janos Baranyai. A caution to those who are squeemish.

Olympian Janos Baranyai Dislocates Elbow, Too Much Snatch
Published 8/13/2008 by Roger Dorn at Tirico Suave
If I ever manage to dislocate my elbow attempting to snatch 148kg on national television, which will never happen because my Butler Geoffrey does all the heavy lifting, please don’t cover me up with branded signs. I can’t imagine this poor Hungarian guy, mid-Theismann , saying to himself, “I really hope a bunch of Chinese dudes I don’t know circle around me so that it takes doctors longer to fix my isosceles triangle of a limb.” Here’s the good news:“There was a dislocation of the elbow but the bones are not broken,” Tamas Feher, the Hungarian weightlifting federation chief, said. “They just put it right back, ...

Why They Don't Show Olympic Weightlifting During Primetime
Published 8/13/2008 by Ryan Hudson at RealClearSports - Blog
I've been trying to post video of this all day, but NBC is doing a rather amazing job of pulling down all their videos from the Intertubes (so watch it while you can). A warning -- it's a bit graphic (spoiler alert: this video features an arm becoming dislocated). (Hungarian Weightlifter Turns Elbow Inside Out (GRAPHIC) - The Huffington Post)
