The Olympics Have Finally Begun

I, like billions of men everywhere in the world, enjoyed watching Misty May-Treanor and Kerry Walsh bounce around in the sand towards gold. There is some sense of awe, watching the Chinese men's gymnastics team twirl about on the pommel horse, and watching the tension on the faces of the Chinese middle school gymnastics team as they try to take on Americans ...
Michael Johnson Can't Believe Usain Bolt's World Record 9.69 100 Meter Dash
Published 8/18/2008 at FanIQ Blog
The BBC had United States Michael Johnson, a track legend in his own right, on their broadcast during the men's 100 meter dash Saturday night in Beijing.
Johnson who dominated the 400m and 200m races in Atlanta, on currently owns both of those world records. The Texan is still the only Olympian in history to win both of those events in the same Olympics. A feat, that I wouldn't put past the 21-year-old Jamaican, Usain Bolt.
When Johnson was informed of Bolt's 9.69 world record time, despite celebrating the final 20 minutes, "The Man With The Golden Shoes" was stunned. No ...
Michael Johnson: 'Michael Phelps? Michael Who? It's All About Usain Bolt'
Published 8/18/2008 at FanHouse
Filed under: USAMichael Johnson was America's greatest Olympic star at the 1996 Games, dominating the field in both the 200-meter and 400-meter sprints. But if you'd think Johnson would consider his countryman Michael Phelps to be the biggest star of the 2008 Games, you'd be wrong. Johnson watched Jamaica's Usain Bolt win the 100-meter dash gold medal and came away much more impressed with Bolt than he is with Phelps: "There's no athlete out there who can compete with (Bolt)," Johnson said. "I mean, Michael Phelps? Michael who? At this point it's all about Usain Bolt, and deservedly so." It's ...
Michael Johnson enjoys a good Usain Bolt sprint
Published 8/19/2008 by Pat Imig at Fourth-Place Medal
Michael Johnson is synonymous with sprints at the summer games. He's the only man to successfully defend his Olympics title in the 400M, he won four gold medals and was crowned world champion nine times. Safe to say he recognizes greatness when he sees it. Then again, it doesn't take a genius to recognize such when a world record in the 100M transpires right before your very eyes. Even so, the following video via Fan IQ is pretty cool. Johnson was hanging with the BBC crew during Usain Bolt's rush to history and displayed his love of sport in much the same way viewers of NBC witnessed Bela Karolyi cheer on ...
