Tiger Woods does indeed walk on water

You always knew in your heart this was true, didn't you? Courtesy of our friends at You Been Blinded, who cap off with a great joke that I'm going to steal here: "For his next miracle, Tiger is going to resurrect David Duval's game."

Tiger Woods Birdies 18 to Beat Jesus
Published 8/20/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (Shane B.) at Dogs That Chase Cars
We all knew Tiger Woods was great, but comparing him to the rather impressive Jesus Christ is a fairly high praise. That didn't stop the EA Sports guys to take his dominance to a new level. I love the commercial but I wish they had put another person trying to do it and falling it. It just kinda looks like he's walking in short water (well, until he puts his club down a foot or so). Tiger Woods can walk on water
Published 8/20/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (TONY ARNOLDINE) at T O N Y B L O G S
I've been away from the blogosphere for the past few days due to golfing commitments (terrible, I know) so let's get the ball rolling again with a funny video from Tiger Woods. A YouTuber uploaded a video from Tiger Woods 08, revealing a glitch in the game that allowed Tiger to hit a shot while standing on water. It was dubbed, "The Jesus Shot." ...

TIGER WOODS WALKS ON WATER
Published 8/20/2008 at With Leather - Sports news and gossip to brighten this short, dark life
Some people who play golf video games discovered a "glitch" in EA Sports' Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08 when they realized they could make Tiger walk on water (video of it here).  And now, in the video above, EA has responded with a promo for PGA Tour '09 in which Woods actually walks on water. Pretty cool, I guess.  I always like it when athletes are compared to the Son of God and our Lord and Savior.  And while Tiger can surely turn water into wine, let's not forget that Jesus won his Grand Slam all in the same calendar year.  [You ...

Tiger Woods does not glitch, only mortals do
Published 8/20/2008 by B-Reezy at The Sports Culture
Here’s a thought: Instead of admitting to video game glitches, why not just make them reality? It’s the equivalent to editing Wikipedia to prove an argument. (I am never, ever wrong. Trust me.) That’s what Tiger Woods did, in response to a glitch in his video game that allowed users to walk on water. No shocker — Tiger can do that, too. And through the same way he rolls on the golf course, Tiger completely humiliated his opponent — in this case, the YouTube video that pointed out the glitch. (Video after the jump) But while they’re at it, we would also like to see these ...

Tiger Woods Is Jesus [Tiger Woods]
Published 8/20/2008 by Clay Travis at Deadspin
At least according to a new EA Sports commercial for his video game where El Tigre walks on water—into a pond— and plays his ball from a lilly pad. The most amazing thing about this commercial is not necessarily that it was made but that EA is now watching YouTube clips and responding to people who've posted videos. Next thing you know Deadspin commenters are going to get called out by Norby! in commercials for the new SportsCenter. Here's the video after the jump. Well, being the new son of God has clearly done wonders with the knee rehab. ...

Tiger Woods Jesus Shot From The Water EA Sports Commercial
Published 8/20/2008 at FanIQ Blog
I am not a particularly religious man, but I don't like to tempt fate. So I do my best not to compare myself to Jesus in any way shape or form. Tiger Woods, however, will do that. As some of you may know, there's a glitch in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 video game where you can have Woods shoot from on top of the water. It was therefore known as the Tiger Woods Jesus shot. Well, apparently the fellows at EA Sports are hip to these here interwebs and decided to capitalize on the Jesus glitch with this, uh, not-so-humble commercial. In the next commercial, ...

Religious hints in sports ads
Published 8/20/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (wheresubaldo) at Where's Ubaldo?
You may remember about a year back that this commercial had many going to church up in arms. Well now there is new reason for them to be angry at an ad again thanks to Tiger Woods. In case you happen to be blind, that was Tiger Woods walking on water. In case you don't go to church, this is saying that he can do something that people thought only Jesus could do.

In my mind, this video puts Tiger Woods above any other athlete. No one else could have pulled this off and thankfully no one tried, save Gilbert Arenas. I know of no one that dislikes this man and he should be the one running for office. Tiger ‘08. The Greatest commercial of all-time.

EA Turns Mistake Into Ad For Tiger Woods 09
Published 8/21/2008 at FirstCuts
There are a lot of self-righteous gamers on the web who take great joy in finding any glitch in any video game, then taking shaky cam footage and posting it to YouTube. The "Jesus Shot" in Tiger Woods 08 was pretty popular with nearly 70,000 views, but EA took that mistake and turned it into their latest ad campaign. Hey, at least EA has a sense of humor about it. Somehow, I'm sure someone will just be offended by the Jesus imagery. I mean really, who would do something like that? /sarcasm (H/T to You ...

Who Said Tiger Woods Can't Walk on Water?!
Published 8/23/2008 by Berger at Sports Business Radio blogs
This may be my new favorite Tiger Woods commercial. That's saying something since Tiger has done plenty of spots for Nike Golf, Gatorade, Tag Hauer and Buick just to name a few. He makes $100M in endorsements alone. But this new spot from EA Sports promoting Tiger Woods '09 pretty much sums up Tiger's prowess on the golf course - and very cleverly I might add:

Tiger’s Knee Is Good Enough For A Rubik’s Cube
Published 8/26/2008 by Chris at Intentional Foul
If you are coming off of a major knee reconstruction, I’m not sure if messing around by putting puzzle cubes on the golf course is the best way to rehab. Perhaps he should be home resting his leg instead of fooling around with a Rubik’s Cube. Talk about foolish. Apparently, the health of Tiger’s knee doesn’t mean as much to him as it does his fans. What else would explain such shenanigans like these? So you opted for season-ending knee surgery so you can do this? Were you that bored with golf, Tiger? Actually, this is another ...

Since Marketing Chick by Day, Bloggerette by Night is our (self-appointed) byline, we must pay homage to this very popular viral ad for a video game that’s been kicking around all week. Check out EA Sports using YouTube (1m, 33s) to showcase Tiger Woods PGA Tour ‘09 . . . and how Jesus and Tiger have more in common than just a good golf game. (Not that we can verify that for a fact, but don’t you think it’s a fair assumption that shooting under par is a cinch for someone who can change water into wine?) Anyway . . . sehr klever. In case you didn’t notice, I really love to golf. I’m getting better and hope to pass the plateau of socially acceptable to really dangerous in the next year. I’m one of the fortunate ones in that I am more relaxed on the course than on the range. Off the tee, I can hit very well and stay in the fairway. Woohoo! My record drive is over 200 yards and I’ve done that more than once in the desert. No, I am not trying to brag – I’m the first one to tell you that I need help on my short game and my putting especially leaves a lot to be desired.
