We all knew Tiger Woods was great, but comparing him to the rather impressive Jesus Christ is a fairly high praise. That didn't stop the EA Sports guys to take his dominance to a new level. I love the commercial but I wish they had put another person trying to do it and falling it. It just kinda looks like he's walking in short water (well, until he puts his club down a foot or so). Some people who play golf video games discovered a "glitch" in EA Sports' Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08 when they realized they could make Tiger walk on water (video of it here).  And now, in the video above, EA has responded with a promo for PGA Tour '09 in which Woods actually walks on water. You may remember about a year back that this commercial had many going to church up in arms. Well now there is new reason for them to be angry at an ad again thanks to Tiger Woods. This may be my new favorite Tiger Woods commercial. That's saying something since Tiger has done plenty of spots for Nike Golf, Gatorade, Tag Hauer and Buick just to name a few. He makes $100M in endorsements alone. But this new spot from EA Sports promoting Tiger Woods '09 pretty much sums up Tiger's prowess on the golf course - and very cleverly I might add:

If you are coming off of a major knee reconstruction, I’m not sure if messing around by putting puzzle cubes on the golf course is the best way to rehab. In case you didn’t notice, I really love to golf. I’m getting better and hope to pass the plateau of socially acceptable to really dangerous in the next year. I’m one of the fortunate ones in that I am more relaxed on the course than on the range. Off the tee, I can hit very well and stay in the fairway. Woohoo! My record drive is over 200 yards and I’ve done that more than once in the desert. No, I am not trying to brag – I’m the first one to tell you that I need help on my short game and my putting especially leaves a lot to be desired.
