Some people who play golf video games discovered a "glitch" in EA Sports' Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08 when they realized they could make Tiger walk on water (video of it here). And now, in the video above, EA has responded with a promo for PGA Tour '09 in which Woods actually walks on water. Pretty cool, I guess. I always like it when athletes are compared to the Son of God and our Lord and Savior. At least according to a new EA Sports commercial for his video game where El Tigre walks on water—into a pond— and plays his ball from a lilly pad. The most amazing thing about this commercial is not necessarily that it was made but that EA is now watching YouTube clips and responding to people who've posted videos. There are a lot of self-righteous gamers on the web who take great joy in finding any glitch in any video game, then taking shaky cam footage and posting it to YouTube.
The "Jesus Shot" in Tiger Woods 08 was pretty popular with nearly 70,000 views, but EA took that mistake and turned it into their latest ad campaign.
Hey, at least EA has a sense of humor about it. Somehow, I'm sure someone will just be offended by the Jesus imagery. I mean really, who would do something like that? /sarcasm
